Sigh.
I'm worried.
You see, this morning I was supposed to take Brittney out to breakfast to celebrate the end of her time at ACE and the end of my time at NESA.
I'm really proud of her. She's been worried about passing (I think that's getting an 80, but it could be a 70) the credit-by-exam for English IV and US History. She got 89 on the English III. A few days ago she got 90 on English IV. So she called me last night to tell me that she got 93 on the US History. Hell yeah. That means her last day of school is Wednesday.
I'm really proud of her.
Wow, I said that twice.
Anyway, the worry: I was supposed to call her this morning to wake her up, but her phone died. So I'm just going to go over there and hope for the best, I suppose. Sigh.
Well, I'd better get going.

I just discovered that
All is demur. Raca!
happens to be an anagram of Drusilla Macrae.

Second-to-last day of school.
Well, I decided to end it with a bang. So I pipe-bombed Lee.
Just kidding. What I really did was bring my sax and sit in the courtyard this morning, jamming. Had a wonderful time. Departed from my usual refined improv style in favour of what Mike termed 'going all free jazz'. Was badass. Went off in this weird combination of B-flat blues and A pentatonic, with lots of pops, squeaks (though no growls), and this cool polyphonic effect wherein I play fifths with myself. For about ten minutes. Was dirty out of breath (and dirty late to class) after that.
So that was cool.
Also got FareForward mostly done. Just waiting on Mrs. LeStrange's note for the front matter and Julia's non-fiction piece.
So this was all copacetic.
Then I tried to talk to April about stuff (see her last non-friends-only entry for a synopsis--though I would like to point out in my defense that getting April in trouble has never been a goal or object of mine, and indeed I didn't really ever consider it a possibility), and yeah, that didn't work so well. I'm really worried about her. I don't really understand her any more, and I don't know what to attribute that to.
But then after school (like ten minutes after that) I got out my anxiety by again rocking like a rock of ages. Until someone made me shut up. Unfortunately Brittney called my house while I was out. Frowny frown frown.
And then I helped my mom pack up her room (she's retiring from being a fifth-grade teacher) and went out for Greek food. Nummy.
And now I should set about working on my English project. Good night!

Jesus, I need to update more often. Probably be easier when I have actual time.
Senior Recital was interesting. Got all teary-eyed. My song went pretty well. I think I'm a get the group together again to record it. Donno though. I'll have to see.
Went to the PBK luncheon. That was nice. Tasty food. This weird shrimp salad-paste thing with chili powder and paprika in it. Fruit. Chicken. Played my jazz interpretation of the Fundamental Theorem. Was cool.
NESA Banquet was good. Brittney Leal is really the most gorgeous woman in the world. She's very very beautiful, and that night, I could tell that she could see a glimpse of what I see every time I look at her. I wish she could see that all the time. Then she wouldn't look at me so funny every time I smile just because I looked at her.
The juniors roasted us pretty well. That is to say, the concept was good (Vega, representing me: 'Let's make like a fetus and head out.'), even though the execution was shitpoor. Possibly this should have been anticipated. Shrug.
The dancing was nice. DJ said he was going to play Fly Me to the Moon, but he dirty didn't. Bastard. Got my freak on anyway, much to Kathleen's dismay and Rocky's mad props.
I would have pictures of that, but unfortunately I, um, yeah, erased them from the data card. For which Brittney freakin' killed me. Quite deserved it.
The play went very well. The FireStarters folks gave it an excellent production, though there were perhaps a few things I'd have done differently. Ah well. Directing isn't my schtick. Victor Trevino did an excellent job, I thought the best of all the actors in the festival.
I just came in from the Summa reception. That was cool. I took Mr. Schanding. Saw many old friends/acquaintances, both among the students and the teachers.
Oh, AP tests. Feh. The only weird ones were Macroecon, Comp. Gov, and Physics. But during the US Gov't test, one of our Drosophilae from Biology walked across my test paper. I thought that was cool. Female, red eyes, normal wings.
All of my classes are so. . . done. The only work I have left is:
Calculus test (easy)
Physics test (easy)
English project (easy and fun, though Laura is bitching about it)
I turned in most of my books today. Just have Calculus and Physics out still. And Hiroshima by John Hersey.
