God damn.

Our worthless/incompetent main office secretary did the announcements today.

It's 6 March; this means that she read the last letter from Travis out of the Alamo. Problem: she's seriously got a literacy problem. She read 'I am beseiged by as many as 1,000 of the Mexicans.' 'Beseiged' was pronounced 'bes-EYEg'd'. And she butchered 'fortification' and 'bombardment' as well as 'soldier'.

Then went on to make an announcement about the 'Martha Luther King' scholarship. Apparently applications are available in the Career Center.

And then Mr. Dirty Giner himself, the president, made a ridiculous press statement this evening.

Again, God damn.

Just got in from my second reading from Courting the Muse.

It went fairly well. I read the first section of Ash-Wednesday to, I don't know, invoke the poetry gods.

And the damn Blogger won't update my email address. It's andrewcooper@flash.net.

Brittney took me to lunch today. *smile*

Other than that, not much happened today.

Progress continues on the script for Latin State. Heh heh.

Wow!

Golly, it's been a month.

More, even.

See, someone hacked my email account, so I've had to get another one. I updated the link. That's my scapegoat for the long delay in blogging.

I, um, hmm. Don't really want to catch everyone up on all the news, but I will do this weekend:

Friday I had lunch with Philip Levine. That was cool. He's a great guy. Complained about Bush the whole time. He's very much like I imagine Mike will be when he's old and famous.

Friday night was Certamen prelims for Area. Sunil and I had fun, and we made it to finals with the third-place seed. Highlights: I answered the 20th toss-up with 'Your mom.' Mr. Lee acted upset, then Sunil and Mrs. Lib conspired to fool me into thinking that I'd really hurt his feelings. Chumps. *grin*

Saturday was Area proper. Good stuff. I got first (perfect score--though it was a ridiculously easy test) on Latin Derivatives, first on Decathlon, and second in Caesar Dicit. My Decathlon score was the highest senior score (second-highest over all; Sophie Cantu, the sophomore Girl Wonder of Latin, beat me by a point or two), so I won the nifty SACS scholarship that Ben got last year. Yay.

And we got second in Certamen, beating Mac who got the second-place seed.

Lee did fairly well overall, but of course we can't compete with the bigger programs in the area, so we didn't do so well in our division on sweepstakes.

Sunday. Not much else happened. Sang in church. Came home. Yadda yadda.

Monday was a Gathering of Poets and Writers. Pretty good, a little long, a little tedious. You know.

Tuesday School. 'Nough said.
