It's been a week.
Saturday I went to Lake McQueeney with my girlfriend Christine. I'll have to upload a picture of her sometime. Brilliant girl. 1600 SAT, all 100s this (junior) year, AP exams out the ass, whoops me in Latin.
That was fun. We both were mildly sunburned.
The rest of this week has been interesting--I've had to dig up about 250 square feet of grass in my front yard and move 9 cubic yards of soil. The point is to put in shrubs and trees, and then mulch the rest--which takes less water than grass. Plus SAWS will give you $1000 for taking a certain square footage of grass out.
Broke a shovel, got tanner and more muscular. I've earned several blisters, worn out a pair of shoes, and generally been dirtier and sweatier. Fun stuff.
I've got to continue my usual productivity with writing during the summer--hopefully this weekend will help.
I'm going to the Students Taking Action for Respect conference in Austin. Seems fairly interesting, but the really good part is: free food, lodging, t-shirts, food, seminars, snacks, food, and a camera.
Mostly I'm excited because Christine is going, too.
But it should serve to get me away from the house and its associated work long enough to relax and do some thinking.
Christine just got back online. I'll post again later.
